Event Description

ARISE IS...

...an innovative program supported by a grant from the National Institute on Drug Abuse at the National Institutes of Health.  The program is designed to assist Central Valley 7th-12th grade EL students and teachers in science achievement using interest-based learning.

 

...an opportunity for teachers to intensively study the field of neuroscience and the science of addiction during a content-rich, week-long summer institute UC Davis instructors.

 

...outreach to our most vulnerable student population, English Learners, to help them succeed in science, accelerate their learning and assist teachers in meeting student needs.

When:  Summer Institute, June 18-22, 2012
Who:  7-12th grade teachers in the Central Valley

Teachers receive an $500 stipend and the opportunity to earn 4 quarter units from UC Davis Extension.
